Zafira Offers Cheaper Seats

Prices for the new Vauxhall Zafira have been announced, and the good news is that it will be better value when it goes on sale in July.

20th April 2005

The entry-level 1.6-litre Expression still costs ΂£12,995, but at ΂£14,995 the 1.6-litre Life has been slashed by ΂£350. It also boasts alloy wheels, side airbags and roof rails as standard - all absent from the outgoing version. Diesel versions are available from ΂£16,995, while the range-topping 197bhp Zafira Design 2.0 turbo is available for ΂£20,445. All models will feature Vauxhall's clever Flex7 seating.

Customers ordering a 1.6 or 2.2-litre petrol Zafira Life or the 118bhp diesel version before the end of July will also be offered a special launch package. This features extras valued at ΂£1,050, including cruise control and special alloy wheels, but will only cost buyers ΂£500. Vauxhall has also revealed prices for the 236bhp Astra VXR hot hatch. It will cost from ΂£18,995 when deliveries start in September, undercutting the VW Golf GTI by ΂£1,000. In addition, a new 90bhp 1.7-litre CDTI diesel engine has been added to the Astra line-up, with prices starting from ΂£13,895.
