Skoda Snippets

Skoda isn't well known for its concept cars. Before the Roomster, the only one was the 2002 Tudor - a one-off coupé version of the Superb.

In 1971, the firm built a mid-engined sports car prototype - the Super Sport 724 - which was revealed at the Brussels Motor Show. The model also featured in a Czech movie called Vampire From Ferrat.
A year later, a fleet of five rear-engined beach buggies with plastic bodies was built. They never made production, but one was exhibited at the 1975 London Racing Car Show.

Styling house Giugiaro came up with a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive Skoda family saloon in 1967. It was called the Type 720 - although it was never revealed in public.
