The Kyron SUV will go on sale in Britain by the end of the year, SsangYong has confirmed. The car has been officially launched in the firm's home market of South Korea, with a European debut due at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

It's a rival to the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail, and comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 2.7 diesel. A long wheelbase and Hill Descent Control system will provide some mud-plugging ability.
