BMW 3-Series crowned Scottish Car of the Year

BMW 3-Series was named Scottish Car of the Year by Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW). The prize was given for its "spaciousness and class-leading mix of petrol and diesel engines".

01st November 2005

Since its launch in March, the BMW 3-Series Saloon has attracted more than 18,000 buyers in the UK.

President of the ASMW, Ally Ballingall, gave his thoughts on why the car has proved to be so popular before handing over the award.

'Strong residual values make our winner an obvious choice among cash conscious Scottish private buyers,' he said, 'While two talented diesel engine options make it a big hit with company car drivers.'
