Snowhere to hide for Astra CC

Testing the latest cars isn't all glamour and comfort, as two Vauxhall engineers showed when we spied them conducting cold weather trials with the roof down in the new Astra TwinTop.

We've already seen the coup΃©-cabrio with its folding metal lid in the up and down positions, but the picture in this week's mag reveals the hood mechanism in action. Made up of three main parts, including a roof split into two - hence the car's name - it's a complex device.

On sale in the spring, priced from around ΂£17,000, the four-seater has a choice of 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0-litre petrol engines, plus a 1.9 diesel.
