Legacy sets the Gold standard

The 2006 Subaru Legacy saloon (image) and Sports Tourer have been given the first-ever 'Top Safety Pick Gold' award by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Areas covered included side impacts at 31mph, offset frontal barrier at 40mph and a stationary rear crash impact and head restraint mechanism check. The British line-up starts with the 2.0R AWD saloon, priced £16,995.
