Used car news

Showrooms are enjoying one of their busiest times of the year. As a result, there are plenty of trade-ins arriving at new car outlets - so check for non-franchised examples appearing on forecourts. Sales staff will be only too pleased to sell any cluttering up the display. If you're looking at privately advertised models, you may be able to get a bargain if the vendor is about to take delivery of an 06-reg vehicle - they're unlikely to want their old car hanging around, and may need money to fund their purchase.

SAVE £5,000 on one of the first Range Rover Sport models ever built. Dealer Perrys has a 55-reg Zambezi Silver First Edition for £56,845. The individually numbered example is one of the first 150 cars produced, and features black leather trim, adaptive cruise control and satellite navigation. Click on www.perrys.co.uk for details.

JAPANESE firm Subaru is promoting its range of car accessories with a couple of special deals. Motorists buying a load carrier and attachment, such as a bicycle rack or ski carrier, can get a 10 per cent discount on both items as part of the promotion. In addition, any owners of the manu-facturer's Forester soft-roader who purchase a towbar will receive a wiring kit worth £49.95 for free. Both offers are available from participating franchised dealers and all products are covered by a three-year warranty.
