The Sedici goes on sale April 22 at a base price of £12,495 and is Fiat's first ever SUV. Designed by Italian favourite Giorgetto Giugiaro, it has been engineered in conjunction with Suzuki.

It features a 3-mode transmission, allowing the driver to select front wheel drive, intelligent 4WD power distribution, or torque lock, where a 50/50 power split between the front and rear axles is maintained.

The car will come with a choice of 1.6 petrol or 1.9 multijet turbo diesel engines, and a pleasantly high level of standard kit: ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution, four airbags, remote central locking, air conditioning and an eight speaker radio/CD player are standard.

Optional extras will include tinted windows, leather upholstery, full-length curtain airbags, an Electronic Stability Programme, an MP3 player, and NAV+ satellite navigation.

For more details, see the Fiat website here for more info.
