£700k fuel fill up
Grants of more than £700,000 have been awarded to researchers developing new materials which will help reduce our dependence on petrol and diesel.

Boffins at the University of Bath are looking into ways of increasing the capacity of hybrid car batteries. The university's Professor Saiful Islam said: "New materials hold the key to cleaner and lighter lithium cells, which will help kick the fossil fuel habit."
