As proven by these pictures of the saloon and estate, Volkswagen is currently developing the top-end of the Passat range, likely to be called the Passat R36, a name that hints to the cars enormous power of 280 bhp coming from a 3.6-litre V6. The car has larger air intakes in the front end, large alloy wheels (still painted black), and the rear end is featuring a small spoiler and two exhaust pipes. We expect to see the car at the dealers in spring 2007.
