It’s obvious the car has a sloping coupe-like roofline, but it is hidden by heavy disguises. No clue on how the rear looks like, but the disguise makes it look like it has the Z4’s rear lights. While originally the X6 was said to be a Mercedes Benz competitor, now it seems a little strange for a rival to a four-door coupe being an SUV. It's likely to target the Mercedes’ R-class instead.
While at first people have been sceptical on BMW entering non-saloon segments, believing that it will dilute the 'ultimate driving machine' experience, most are now convinced that BMW can make a MPV or a crossover SUV go like a saloon that handles very well. Longer and lower than the brand-new X5, this crossover will seat only four. But what the sporty X6 loses in seating, it will gain in performance. Expect it in 2008.
