Volvo V70

Don’t be fooled by the twin kidney-shapes in the spy shots. This is not a BMW, nor a Pontiac

Hiding underneath all the bolted-on panels is none other than an all-new Volvo V70. The new estate will arrive in time for the 2008 model year, along with two other new Volvo models: A new XC70, and the production version of the XC60 that Volvo had on display as a concept a couple of months back. But the V70 is the first of the upcoming models that we’ve spotted undergoing tests, and even under all the camouflage, it’s obvious that it carries many of the new S80 styling cues, but keeps a very muscular look with its huge egg-crate grille and upright stance.

And our photos (taken from our archive) clearly show the S80-like interior, as well as options such as Volvo’s BLIS (blind spot information system cameras on the side mirrors) and a collision warning system with break support (CWBS) mounted in the front grille.
