We’ve seen some strange methods of disguising prototypes, but this has to be the least effective. Despite the test driver’s attempt to block the view, our photographer came away with these first pictures of Kia’s new compact SUV.
Displayed in the form of the Soul concept at the Detroit Motor Show
in 2006, the five-seater should go on sale here next year, rivalling the upcoming Ford Kuga and Toyota RAV4.
As with its big brother, the HM, the Soul will look the part, with large headlights and chunky wheelarches. It will be front-wheel drive only, and powered by a range of engines from the Cee’d line-up. The production model will be unveiled at Detroit early next year.
