Check out the most revealing pictures yet of Ford’s new
Fiesta! Now that the firm has revealed its new supermini in concept form, engineers are getting careless with the production model’s disguise – and we were there to capture the moment on camera.
These clear images show every detail of the newcomer in five-door shape, and prove just how close the Verve concept was to a showroom reality when it was revealed at the
Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
As you can see, the supermini’s most distinctive features will be its sleek headlamps. Unlike the current model, the new Fiesta will have a sporty shape with a sharply rising waistline and fashionable reverse angle C-pillar.
At the rear, the small glass area adds to the sporty stance, while the distinctive tail-lamps are also a radical departure for Ford’s small car designers. The three-door version is likely to be even sportier, as blue oval bosses aim to make the Fiesta replacement less conservative than its Focus big brother.
Our spies have also had a glimpse inside a more heavily disguised prototype, and the Ford’s interior will be just as striking as the exterior. The hard plastics of the existing model’s cabin will be scrapped in favour of a more upmarket design.
When the car spied here goes on sale in November next year, it is likely to drop its historic Fiesta badge. The supermini is expected to be called the Verve, and aims to tempt buyers away from top class rivals like Vauxhall’s new Corsa and
Renault’s latest Clio.
