Here’s proof that Audi’s A6 Allroad is getting a little brother. Thanks to these spy shots, Auto Express can bring you the first pictures of the A4 Allroad – which we’ve snapped undergoing testing at the company’s base in Germany.
It gets a raised ride height, plus protective plastic wheelarch extensions and side sills. There’s also permanent quattro four-wheel drive. The A4 Allroad will bridge the gap between the new A4 range and the Q5 SUV, previewed in concept form with the Cross Cabriolet quattro.
Although this prototype is a saloon, the new arrival will also be available as an estate, and a range of fresh diesels will be used. Expect Audi to take the wraps off the newcomer in late 2008, with sales before the end of that year. It will be priced at around £25,000.
