Diesel Cayenne caught cold

There’s a dark secret in the tank of this Porsche. It’s diesel powered!

Our spies couldn’t believe their eyes – or ears – when they saw the Cayenne 4x4 at a black pump while cold weather testing in Sweden.

The snappers said there was no mistaking the oil-burning clatter of the engine – which is likely to be the platform-sharing VW Touareg’s 3.0-litre V6 TDI or the mighty new V12 diesel motor planned for the Audi R8.

Bosses remain tight-lipped about it, but the oil-burning Cayenne is set to make its debut next year.
