The distinct rhombus-shaped shadow underneath the disguise tape tells us this is the new Renault Megane hatchback, preparing for battle with rivals like the Peugeot 308, Kia Cee'd and forthcoming Golf MkVI.
Our spies caught the Megane III out testing, and the big news is its distinctly less controversial gait. There’ll be no ‘shaking it’ when this new Gallic hatch hits the Paris Motor Show this year because that unique rear protrusion has gone.
The more conventional new Megane sits on the current Nissan Qashqai platform, meaning a variety of body styles can be offered. So, as well as the three and five-door hatch, a saloon, coupe, convertible and estate will be offered. Also under consideration is a Megane crossover, which will offer increased practicality in a body smaller than the forthcoming Scenic MPV.
Rest assured Auto Express will be among the first to get behind the wheel of the new Megane and bring you the definitive verdict, so keep coming back.
