Land Rover has been hit harder than most by slowing new car sales, but it’s fighting back with a refreshed line up. Our spies caught the facelifted Range Rover Sport, which will be revealed some time in 2009 alongside revised versions of the Discovery and Range Rover.
Styling changes have been kept to a minimum, nothing more than reshaped body-coloured bumpers, as well as a new grille and headlamp arrangement. The Sport will also benefit from an upgraded interior and an updated range of engines under the bonnet.
Expect it to use Land Rover Jaguars new 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine for the first time – a development of the old 2.7-litre unit. Also on offer will be supercharged and naturally aspirated versions of the all-new 5.0-litre V8 destined for the Jaguar XFR, although it’s likely to be tuned for more torque.
