Meet the new Mercedes S-Class Coupe, which is set to replace the current CL.
The new car will have a wider grille, bisected by a single chrome bar – giving the three-pointed star
prominence. It’ll also feature LED running lights tail lamps.
Under the skin, the S-Class Coupe will follow its saloon sibling in leading the way for technological progress. We’ve already spied an S-Class with a ‘Pre-Scan’ suspension system, and the latest Mercedes concept was an S-Class equipped with more safety gizmos than a health and safety office! So we can safely assume that it’ll be both comfortable and safe to boot.
Mercedes doesn’t appear to be changing the engine line-up, so we can expect to see the standard run of V6, V8 and V12 power plants, though an AMG model is planned. It should use the 6.2-litre V8 engine from all AMG models in Mercedes’ range, but Mercedes are apparently upping power and lowering fuel consumption.
We’ll see more of the S-Class Coupe early next year.
