Are these the pictures that confirm Vauxhall is working on a high performance version of its new Meriva?
Revised fog lamps and a wide grille all pave the way for this mule offering us our clearest view yet of a sporty VXR version.
Engines will be standard Vauxhall fare – small capacity diesels and petrols, with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four cylinder VXR version at the top end of the range.
Suspension could be an issue though – look at the cornering in our pictures. What appears to be a fairly easy bend is causing the car to lean heavily. Either the drivers don’t like having their picture taken or they’re testing an entry-level model with soft suspension.
We’ll see the finished article in September at the Frankfurt show.
