Here's a blast from the past! Porsche is planning to revive the legendary Speedster badge on its ever popular Boxster and we've got the proof.
These latest shots show a heavily disguised prototype version of the Speedster, thought to be a final send off for the current generation Boxster before the third iteration of the convertible is unveiled in late 2011.
Major exterior changes include a lower windscreen, redesigned canvas roof and the addition of two classic Speedster humps running the length of the rear engine cover.
Under the bonnet the Speedster is expected to use the 299bhp, 3.4-litre flat-six engine from the limited edition Porsche Design Edition 2 and RS60 Boxsters.
With this year marking the 55th anniversary of the original Speedster, many are speculating an official unveiling before the year is out.
