Here's a car for the M-badge purists! Following a brief departure from the norm with the X5 and X6 M, BMW's tuning division is back on track testing the next-generation M5.
The heavily clad rear of the car hides much of the detail but the four round exhaust pipes state its performance intentions. BMW's trademark pyschadelic camouflage at the front of the car reveals the aggressive front fascia with huge air intakes and even a power bulge on the bonnet.
As for the engine, power is expected to come from the 555hp, 4.4-litre powerplant from the M-badged X5 and X6. The 0-60mph sprint should be dealt with in around 4.5 seconds and the car will accelerate all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
The next-generation M5 will be released sometime during 2011 with prices starting at around £60,000.
