Mitsubishi has become the latest company to join the cross-over craze! These spy-shots show a disguised production version of the hatchback/SUV mix 'cX' concept which was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007.

This testing mule reveals that the production model has stayed true to the overall shape and size of the original concept, with the same aggressive front and rear lights. Meanwhile, the 'fighter-jet' style grille from the Evo X, which also appeared on the concept, looks likely to make a re-appearance.

Under the bonnet, power is expected to come from a range of naturally aspirated four cylinder engines, with the flagship cX possibly toting a turbocharged powerplant.

The U.S market will be the first to receive this production CUV in autumn 2010. European sales will begin shortly after in early 2011.
