the box is an absolute classic to drive
Routine servicing as expected pretty reasonable
but additional maintenance work has been a bit of a shocker and been the most difficult thing to swallow. Hence why I've still got it, after spending so much can't bear to part with it.
new clutch, new oil seals. and a split cooling expansion tank induction coils to name few. I now it will be a well serviced specimen if I ever decide to part with it.
If i ever buy porsche again, i'll buy new, not get attached to it and return it prior to it hitting mid life.

A sheer pleasure to drive and a blast when you get to the open road. Truly excellent road holding and excellent acceleration when you need it. The car gives a great sense of confidence in its ability to be driven to its potential. It may seem a contradiction but one would have to work very hard to achieve the published mpg. Handling in anything but slight snow is poor.

Clutch pedal microswitch failed at 31k miles. Ok with fuel at 30mpg...as expected for type of car. not impressed with fact that porsche know there is a fault on above micro switch but did not recall. failure of the switch makes car a non-starter.

Though an expensive purchase it has been very reliable only needing brake pads and discs + regular servicing. Again as a fun car , the running costs are quite high but this is to be expected in low mpg , high insurance etc.

Main dealer's costs significantly more expensive (as you would expect) but not in any way better than independent. mpg higher than expected though I do use in town a lot, improves quite enormously on long journeys.

Good practical convertible, with 2 boots, good average economy, fun to drive and own, have to buy the S model, with a good spec, otherwise can be a bit too basic, same with most manufactures these days.....

It has only once let me down in 10 years of driving. It's an expensive car, so costs more to maintain, but now that I don't use the main dealer network, costs are reasonable, given the car's age.

No repairs have been required in my 3 years of ownership other than scheduled servicing. High fuel consumption as you would expect with this type of car.

1 breakdown in 2 years. Servicing (via independant workshop) is reasonable, but discs/pads and and tyres are really expensive.

Very good reliability, always a pleasure to drive. No cheap, but you don't buy a porsche if you want cheap running costs.

Excellent. Fuel economy is very good for the performance, pats and tyres are expensive, but one would expect this.
