Wheel polishes and waxes
It may take to time apply but the effort will pay dividends when it comes to cleaning as wheel polishes and waxes help the grime just slip away. Out test also showed they can slow the build up of grime - so which is the one for the easy life? We drove for a month with 12 on our rims to find out.

Price: £7.99
When it comes to car cleaning shifting grime from wheels is one of the toughest jobs. But with this newly revamped Wheel Wax from Mer it is a lot easier as it creates a protective barrier that requires little more than hosing to shift the grime. Easy to use, it also slows the build up of disc dust.

High price grabs the attention but this is a hand made hard wax and a little goes along way on your rim. You have to leave it 10 minutes after applying before buffing to allow it to bond but it is worth the wait as the grime just blasted away with a hose after four weeks on the road.
Collinite No845 Insulator Wax

Price: £18.50
It might be aimed at boat owners but this unconventional, chunky paste wax works a treat on car wheels. You use less than a with liquid wax so it is more cost effective than that hefty price might suggest and it starred when it came to slowing the build up of grime during our four-week test.
