As with the Nikkai, the Cygnett used a cassette adaptor, but added a headphone splitter and retractable phono cables for use with car amplifiers. Results were similar to the Nikkai, with a flat sound; hiss could be reduced by engaging Dolby noise reduction, but this dulled the sound even more. In practical terms, the curly lead was tidier than the Nikkai’s, but the Cygnett is still a poor man’s choice.
