At 40mm, this Le Garage option was the thickest foam protector on test, although the single piece was only 20cm by 23cm. It absorbed considerable knocks with no ill effects to the car, although the foam took a while to regain its shape. The smaller surface area means it’s probably the best product to protect the front or rear of the vehicle.
