Magellan Maestro 4010

Sat-nav speed trap locator test

Price: £195.04 Mapping: UK & Ireland Subscription: No months free/from £19 a year

Magellan Maestro 4010

Date: August 2007

  • Rating:

The 4.3-inch widescreen hosts a clean interface, and all speech – including handy input confirmation – is superbly clear. Bluetooth calls were good, as was the 4010’s POI score, but it is a bit pricey for a unit with no European maps, MP3, JPG or TMC. It failed to find three test postcodes and the useful split-screen at junctions could be erratic. Trap warnings were reasonable, if non-directional.
