Even the best bulbs can lose their brightness over time, so improve visibility
on those long, dark autumn nights with a new set of bulbs. What’s more, you can upgrade to bulbs offering 50 or 60 per cent more light. Expect to pay around £30, depending on the type of bulb fitted to your car. For the ultimate beam, go for Philips X-treme bulbs (pictured), which deliver 80 per cent more for a few pounds extra.
