Top 20 must-buys for your car

Coolant

Text: Kim Adams Date: October 2007

Keep the big freeze out of your motor by checking and replacing the coolant. The fluid has a limited life, so unless you know when it went in, it pays to replace. When buying, make sure you pick the right type for your car, then go for the longest life product you can afford. Less than £20 should get five litres of long-life five-year coolant, while a 36-month version costs a few pounds less.
