Clicks to directions: Three
Offering lots of useful customisation for drivers, the AA Route Planner points out speed cameras, service stations and warns of traffic hotspots. However, it was really let down by the planned route. The directions it listed were longer than those calculated by the sat-nav, while the printed step-by-step instructions weren’t as clear as some rivals. It did warn us about the congestion charge zone, though, and the overall simplicity of the planner, which let you pick a route quickly, was a bonus.
