You can’t fail to find the RAC’s route planner on its homepage – it’s built into the top bar of the website. We like the estimated travel time, which includes ‘if you’re lucky/unlucky with traffic’ estimates. There are no speed-camera locations, but traffic hotspots are highlighted, and the interactive 3D map is neat. However, the routes it picked weren’t great – it plotted an extremely convoluted way out of our starting town – and the fact it identified all Premier Travel Inns en route was an annoyingly obvious commercial deal.
