History checks don’t get much faster than this phone-based service. Text ‘CTC’, a space and the reg number to 83600, and you get a reply with vital info – ideal if you’re stood next to the car. It spotted the Subaru’s write-off, and arrived within 20 seconds. But it missed the BMW’s outstanding finance, and rivals give more info for an extra £2.
