You certainly get plenty for your money with Mer’s rain repellent, because it’s presented in a large 500ml pack. Application involves the same ‘two coats then buff’ method as rivals, and we found it easy to get a smear-free finish. It also works on helmet visors. And whatever you put it on, it’s effective, with only a slight sign of flagging at the end of our test. Deserves its place in our top five.
