The 0.5-Watt Nichia Rigel LED threw out an intense circle of light. But this came at the expense of peripheral illumination, which was non-existent. The design isn’t well thought out: the single AA battery bumps up the torch’s size to 52mm from front to back, yet offers only around six hours’ light.
