Essentially a beefed-up version of the Recommended RIL2550. This unit is slightly bigger, and the rubbery plastic gives it the impression of being much more durable. A rear stand is included, as on the 2550, but this model is even easier to position, as there are two magnets built in. Dead ahead light output was much better than on the 2550, although we found the overall spread of light less impressive.
