Although the 40897 is shaped like a conventional fluorescent inspection lamp, it’s a lot more compact. But it incorporates the obligatory positioning hook on the top, as well as a very useful magnetic strip on the rear. Light output was pleasing, too: you get intense brightness dead ahead, plus a reasonable spread of peripheral illumination. This is surprising given that the LEDs are grouped together into one fairly tight bunch.
