Torque wrenches tested

Price: £17.24, Average error: 1.87 per cent

Clarke CHT141

Date: January 2009

  • Rating:

This is an accurate wrench for less than £20, but although it works, it’s not that simple to use. Neither the Nm nor oddly chosen kg/m marking is easy to get on with thanks to strange value graduations and a peculiar micrometer scale. In addition, reaching the maximum setting of 210 Nm takes some serious effort.
