Our pick of the hide-based mitts, most of which struggle to match their microfibre rivals when it comes to soaking up soapy water.

Race Glaze’s Australian lamb’s wool mitt was one of the most comfortable to use as the cuff was tight, and the
separate thumb made holding on to the pouch a breeze. It was pretty effective on our test panels, too.
