Even if you simply leave your car parked up, you’ll find that the interior will soon be covered in dust. Add in a few meals eaten while on the move, messy trips to the local dump or carrying around your children and their friends, and the grime will rapidly start to build up. A trim cleaner is the perfect answer, and we tried 18 to find the right one to put a sparkle back in your car’s cabin.
Test
We took chocolate, margarine and fruit juice and spread each on a test plastic interior trim panel. Minimal amounts of each product were then used to tackle the stains, with as little wiping as possible. We wanted them to deliver an as-new finish, and also looked for value for money.
A foaming dash cleaner is unconventional, but the Simoniz newcomer certainly made the most progress on all our self-inflicted stains, and left a great matt finish. CarPlan’s Flash Dash spray takes second, with reigning champion Halfords Advanced Interior Trim Shine in third.
