We had to fight to tighten the Mont Blanc’s feet in our Skoda’s door opening – that’s why fixpoints are always a better bet. As a result, the 401 bars were always going to struggle in this test – a pity as the instructions and build quality are excellent and they have a useful 75kg maximum load capacity.
