Capturing track day and driving holiday highlights on video is a great idea, but this can be more hassle than it’s worth if you have a large camcorder. So, meet the world’s smallest: the Muvi Micro Camcorder.

The newcomer is 5cm long, 2cm deep and 2cm wide. It records in VGA quality at 25 frames per second, and the supplied 2GB SD card can store up to one hour of video and audio. You can upgrade the memory to shoot longer movies – it takes up to 8GB.

Drivers will want to add the extreme sports pack (£19.99), with clips, straps and brackets for fixing the camera in-car. Plus, voice-activated recording means you needn’t take your hands off the wheel.

The Micro has a tough metal shell, while the protective skin in the extreme sports pack means it can be used in all weathers. You charge the built-in lithium-ion battery by plugging into a PC’s USB port, and movie-editing software is included in the pack.
