A bucket and sponge aren’t always enough when you’re cleaning your car. Many drivers want specialised brushes, and different designs for their bodywork and wheels, for example. That’s where this new range of brushes from car care giant Muc-Off comes in.

They are impressive, with comfortable, grippy handles made from the same sort of rubberised material as found on the latest screwdrivers.

The bristles are tailored for the job – soft for bodywork, and tougher for the spokes of your wheels –and not one bristle came loose during our vigorous test. The shapes of the brushes are well thought out, too, and they work as well on scooters and bicycles as they do on your car.

Prices start at £3.99 for the claw and detailing brushes, with the wheel and two-prong versions £1 more. The soft washing variant is £5.99, while three and five-brush packs cost £12.99 and £19.99 – which is good value for money.
