Our top tips on driver posture

 * Raise the seat as high as is comfortable to improve your view of the road.

 * Move the seat forwards until you can easily fully depress the clutch and accelerator pedals.

 * Adjust the cushion tilt angle so that your thighs are supported along the length of the cushion.

 * Make sure the backrest provides continuous support and is in contact up to shoulder height.

 * Set up the lumbar support to provide you with even pressure along the length of the backrest.

 * Tilt the steering wheel down and back so that it’s in easy reach.

 * Check you can see your rear view and side mirrors, and use them without excessive straining.

 * Get the positioning of your head restraint just right, to ensure the risk of injury is reduced in the event of an accident.
