Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth phone headset

Communications expert Plantronics sells itself on its involvement in NASA’s moon landings in 1969. Back on earth, it’s now a big player in Bluetooth phone connectivity – and we tried its new Voyager PRO for size.

It paired easily with our mobile, and we could charge it to let it run for hours. We loved the four-button interface, which has a separate area for each function – from the on/off switch at the back to the raised volume key, and even a standalone control for voice dialling.

Each one provided great feedback, beeping when it has been pressed.

WindSmart technology ensured good acoustics, even with the car window down, and operating the air-con or radio didn’t affect our conversation.

Thanks to the dual-microphone, callers could hear us clearly, although the stainless steel mic guard scratched our skin. What’s more, the earpiece slipped out of place easily.

 * So why buy? Good sound from twin microphone set-up, long battery life.
