Battery chargers tested

Price: £93.87 Max output: 7 Amps

Date: October 2009

  • Rating:

Essentially a beefed-up version of the 48484 (below), with a raised max output and a couple of clever new modes.

One is a continual output cycle, which can be used to power some 12V accessories. The other is a repair mode which soothes cells that have been heavily discharged.

On all but the biggest batteries, though, charge speed wasn’t much faster than the 48484’s, so we can’t justify the £30 price hike.
