Navigation giant TomTom has revamped its GO Live devices. The line-up of 540, 740 and 940 units was crowned Auto Express Product of the Year 2009 – and the new 550, 750 and 950 are due to hit the shelves at the end of the month.
Each gets a revised user interface, with a new Live Snapshot feature displaying traffic info, fuel prices and safety camera alerts.
Other functions include IQ Routes, which uses the real-world experiences of millions of drivers to calculate the fastest route.
The line-up kicks off with GO 550 Live, which has UK maps.
Next up is the Go 750 Live – it adds door-to-door navigation for 45 European countries.
Topping the range is the Go 950 Live, which has maps of the US and Canada as well.
An enhanced positioning function maintains navigation where GPS reception is poor.
Meanwhile, the maker is also releasing a colourful back-to-basics sat-nav range this week, with only two buttons. Watch this space for details!
* Maker’s claim: “Latest devices give optimal driving performance and control through the integration of multiple core navigation features.”

I bought the 940 in August from Currys.
I used it in the USA after taking 14 hours to update the maps and it was brilliant.
The same can't be said for back here in the UK. The live service seldom worked and following several calls to the tech guys and e mails it still didn't update fuel prices and asked continually for map updates that weren't there.
Thank you Currys for taking it back and giving me my money back
