18. Jump leads, booster pack

Should you accidentally flatten your battery, a jump start can be enough to get you going again.

When buying jump leads, always go for the biggest cables you can afford, and check the clamps are fully insulated.

A power pack will get you started without needing another car. And as long as you keep them topped up, they are equally at home
