Motorists wanting a powerful beam without spending a lot should check out the Rebel – it was the only torch to get close to the high-end LED Lenser for punch.

It worked well under the bonnet, as the beam is adjustable and had a decent range, plus there were no dark spots in the centre. You get a pouch and lanyard, and the ribbed casing has some roll resistance.
