Impact wrenches - We test eight

Price: £238.95 Claimed torque (Nm): 120

Makita 6918FD WAE

Date: November 2009

  • Rating:

The Makita was the only wrench on test to feature a locking pin, which secured the one 19mm socket provided. With two 2Ah batteries, the lightweight unit was well made and very comfortable to use.

It had the lowest voltage on test at 12V, plus the smallest torque figure, too. However, it really struggled with our wheel bolt and the hub nut was well out of reach, despite a claimed 3,000ipm.
